Join Tricycle on Thursday, May 10th 4-7 pm at RVA's Urban Farm in Manchester for their annual Down on the Farm Party. A new growing season is ahead of us, celebrate the spring among neighbors, friends, family, staff, volunteers, and supporters. Explore the farm through an educational tour, learn about our food access programs, purchase local organic seedlings grown with love by our staff, and enjoy food, drinks, live music, family-friendly activities, and a bonfire to wrap up the night. This event is free and open to the public. See you there! www.tricycleurbanag.org/
We're kicking off an exciting new year of food, farming, and education at the newly launched Cornerstone Community Farm. We'll host three environment-focused service projects that morning, then dust ourselves off and share a delicious picnic together along with games and live music from 1 - 3pm.
We want to celebrate food and families from many cultures, familiar and new, so we're hosting a community picnic...POTLUCK STYLE!! Pull out your favorite family recipes, sign up to bring a MAIN, SIDE, or DESSERT dish and let's eat!
Along with your own special dishes, we'll feature a chicken grill sponsored by VCU Service Learning, a spring salad station and a selection of healthy seasonal samples from Bon Secours Class-a-Roll. To help you get your own garden started off right, we'll also have a huge selection of spring and summer vegetable and flower plants for sale. Free, RSVP here: http://bit.ly/2FXmGuH
Event is now full.
Join us for a public celebration and visual recognition and to meet up with honorees, community organizations, and neighbors over food, cider, and fun. Learn about the great work being done and the impact of volunteers across the region. You and a guest are invited to share the ways YOU too will power good in #RVA. Honorees and those who submitted them will get a special treat.
